Use your own AI key
Add one API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, xAI or OpenRouter to sharpen searches and read more contacts from company websites.
AI in OmniLead is optional. Without a key, search, website enrichment and everything else work exactly as they do today. With a key, a few features get smarter, and they run on your key, so you control the provider, the model and the spend.
What the key is used for
- Search (Leads lens): the query is read into a business type, city and state, and two to four related terms (for example dentist also finds orthodontist and periodontist). Each query is read once and remembered for 30 days, so repeating a search costs nothing.
- Company websites: when a search finds businesses with a website, the crawl also sends the text of the team, about and contact pages it already fetched to the model. Only names, titles and email addresses that appear word for word on the page are kept. The model can't add an address that isn't published.
- Email drafting in sequences, on plans that include it.
If the provider is slow, returns an error or the monthly cap is reached, each feature quietly falls back to how it works without AI.
Add your key
Open Settings → AI
Only owners and admins can see the key settings.
Choose a provider and paste your key
Pick the Provider and paste your API key.
Pick a model
Leave Model empty for the provider's fast, low-cost default, or type any model name the provider offers. OpenRouter always needs a model name.
Set a monthly cap
Enter a Monthly cap in US dollars (default $5).
Test and save
Click Test key to make one tiny request, then Save key.
After saving, only the provider, model and last four characters of the key are shown. The key is stored encrypted and is never sent back to your browser. To change providers, add a new key; to stop using AI, click Remove key.
Monthly cap
OmniLead estimates the cost of each request from the tokens used and a price table per model. Once the estimate for the calendar month reaches your cap, AI features pause until the next month or until you raise the cap. The estimate is a guide: your provider's dashboard shows the exact bill.
What is sent to the provider
Search queries and the public text of business websites. Never your leads, lists, notes or mailbox content.
